The topographical maps in Adventures in Paradise retain the flavor
of their early 20th century origin, while being updated with modern
road names and directions. Elevation gains are simply represented by
carats – green for hill, orange for big hill, and red for what
the author has dubbed walking hills. Points of interest, special road
conditions and easy-to-miss turns are identified with numbered notations.
The accompanying notes interpret the countryside along the way.
No bike guide that we know of offers the number of detailed, full-color
maps that A in P does – 32 custom layouts. Also, A in P is oversized
and lays flat for easy photocopying.
